Method

Prepare Ingredients

  1. 1

    Measure and freeze

Slice a medium banana and freeze half (use the other half fresh or save). Measure out the rolled oats, protein powder, Greek yogurt, almond milk, almond butter, flaxseed, cinnamon, and optional sweetener so everything is ready to combine.

Blend Smoothie

  1. 2

    Combine base ingredients

Into a high-speed blender add 1.5 cups unsweetened almond milk, 1 scoop vanilla protein powder, 1/2 cup Greek yogurt, 1/2 frozen banana, and 1/4 cup rolled oats. These provide the core protein and carbs for recovery.

  2. 3

    Add boosters and ice

Add 1 tablespoon almond butter, 1 teaspoon ground flaxseed, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, and 4 ice cubes. Add 1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup only if you prefer additional sweetness.

  3. 4

    Blend until smooth

Blend on high for 45–60 seconds, stopping to scrape down the sides if needed, until the mixture is thick, creamy, and fully smooth. If the smoothie is too thick, add 2–4 tablespoons (30–60 ml) more milk and blend again to reach desired consistency.

Serve

  1. 5

Pour the smoothie into a 12–16 oz glass or shaker bottle. Top with optional banana slices and 1 teaspoon crushed almonds or granola for texture. Serve immediately for best flavor and nutrient availability.

  2. 6

If storing, keep in a sealed container in the refrigerator and consume within 24 hours. Shake or stir before drinking as separation may occur.
