Smoothie base

Method

Smoothie base

1

Prepare frozen ingredients: If using whole frozen açaí packs, briefly run the unopened pack under warm water for 5–8 seconds to loosen the pulp, then break into chunks. If using frozen purée, break into manageable pieces so the blender can process them.

2

Add to blender in this order: açaí chunks (8 oz), organic strawberries (1 cup), organic mango (1 cup), 1 ripe banana (sliced), and 3 tablespoons coconut water. Adding liquid last helps the blender form a vortex.

3

Pulse to combine: Use short pulses (3–4 pulses) to start breaking up the frozen fruit, then blend on medium-high. Stop and scrape sides as needed. If mixture is too thick to move, add coconut water 1 teaspoon at a time (up to 2 tablespoons more) until blades turn smoothly — you want a thick, spoonable smoothie, not pourable.

4

Sweeten if desired: Taste a small spoonful and add 1 teaspoon honey only if you want extra sweetness. Pulse once to incorporate.

5

Adjust texture: The ideal açaí bowl texture is thick enough to hold toppings. If overly thin, add 1–2 ice cubes or a few frozen berries and pulse briefly. If too thick, add another teaspoon of coconut water and pulse until smooth.

Assembly & toppings

6

Spoon base into bowl: Divide the blended açaí base between two bowls (or keep single-serving depending on portions). Use a spatula to level the top so toppings sit neatly.

7

Arrange toppings: Neatly arrange 1/4 cup sliced strawberries, 1/4 cup diced mango, 1/2 sliced banana, and 1/2 cup housemade granola across the surface. Sprinkle 1 tablespoon hemp seeds and 1 teaspoon chia seeds evenly over the bowl.

8

Finishing drizzle

Drizzle 1 teaspoon of your chosen sauce (honey ginger & turmeric or coconut curry) over the toppings. If using honey ginger & turmeric, warm it very slightly (5–7 seconds in microwave) to make it pourable; for coconut curry, a small spoonful is enough to add a savory-sweet accent. This is optional — offer as +1 add-on.

9

Serve immediately: Serve the açaí bowl right away while cold and firm. Provide a spoon and enjoy. Store any leftover base in an airtight container in the freezer for up to 1 week; refresh by slicing and stirring in a teaspoon of liquid before serving.
