Champagne & Citrus

Method

Champagne & Citrus

  1. 1

    Chill & Prepare

Chill sparkling wine and orange juice well in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours. If using store-bought juice, strain it through a fine-mesh sieve to remove pulp for a smoother drink.

  2. 2

    Glassware

Select chilled Champagne flutes (preferred) or stemmed wine glasses. Rinse glasses with cold water and drain to keep them chilled.

  3. 3

    Pour Orange Juice

Pour 1/4 cup (60 ml) fresh orange juice into each flute. If making multiple servings, aim for a 1:1 ratio overall but pour juice first to control foam.

  4. 4

    Top with Sparkling Wine

Hold the flute at a slight angle and slowly pour chilled sparkling wine down the side to fill the glass (about 1/4 cup / 60 ml per serving). Pour gently to minimize foam and overflow.

  5. 5

    Garnish & Serve

Finish with an orange slice or twist on the rim. Serve immediately while the drink is bubbly and cold.

Optional Additions

  1. 6

If you prefer a sweeter or more complex Mimosa, stir 1/2 teaspoon simple syrup into the orange juice before pouring into the flute. For a boozy orange note, add 1/2 teaspoon Grand Marnier or Cointreau on top of the juice before adding sparkling wine.
