Optional salted rim

If you prefer a salted rim, run a lime wedge around the edge of a chilled rocks or coupe glass. Spread coarse salt on a small plate and dip the rim into the salt to coat. Set the glass aside.

Mixing

Add 2 oz blanco tequila, 0.75 oz fresh lime juice, 0.75 oz orange liqueur, 0.5 oz agave syrup, and 2 dashes of dry orange bitters into a cocktail shaker.

Fill the shaker with ice (about 1 cup) and cap it. Shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds until the shaker is well-chilled and slightly frosted.

Double-strain (or fine-strain) the cocktail into the prepared chilled glass over fresh ice if served on the rocks, or neat into the chilled coupe if preferred.

Garnish with a lime wheel or wedge on the rim or floated on the drink. Serve immediately.
