Method
Juice Base
Cold-press method (preferred)
Feed the prepared kale, spinach, cucumber chunks, and apple quarters through a cold-press (masticating) juicer according to the manufacturer's instructions. Collect juice in a chilled container. After juicing, stir in the fresh lemon juice. If desired, whisk in the optional oil for a silkier mouthfeel and add a pinch of sea salt to brighten flavors. Serve over ice or chill before serving.
High-speed blender + strainer (if no cold-press juicer)
Place kale, spinach, cucumber, apple, lemon juice, and 120 ml cold filtered water into a high-speed blender. Add the optional ginger if using. Blend on high until completely smooth (30–60 seconds). Pour the puree through a fine-mesh sieve, nut milk bag, or cheesecloth set over a bowl; press or squeeze to extract as much liquid as possible. Discard or reserve the remaining pulp for compost or recipes. Stir in optional oil and a pinch of sea salt if using. Chill or serve over ice.
Adjust and finish
Taste the juice and adjust: add a little more lemon juice for brightness, a tiny pinch more salt to enhance flavor, or a few ice cubes to chill. If juice is too thick after blending, add 1–2 tablespoons (15–30 ml) cold water and re-stir.
Pour into glasses and serve immediately for maximum freshness. Store any leftover juice in an airtight glass bottle in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours; shake gently before serving.
Optional Enhancements
Ginger: If using fresh ginger, peel and slice a very small amount (about 1 tsp grated) and add to the juicer or blender with the produce for a subtle spicy note.
Oil: Add 1 teaspoon cold-pressed olive or avocado oil after juicing or straining and whisk to incorporate; this adds a smoother mouthfeel and helps fat-soluble nutrients absorb.
Salt: A single pinch of fine sea salt can amplify the green flavors—add after juicing and taste before adding more.
