Wheatgrass Shot

Method

Wheatgrass Shot

1

Prepare wheatgrass

If using whole wheatgrass blades, trim any browned ends and cut into 1–2 inch lengths so they feed easily into the juicer. Rinse briefly under cold running water and shake off excess.

2

Juice

Feed the prepared wheatgrass into a high-speed masticating juicer. Collect fresh wheatgrass juice until you have 2 fl oz (about 60 ml). If your juicer produces foam, allow the juice to settle for 30–60 seconds and skim foam if desired.

3

Optional finishing

If desired, squeeze the quarter lemon into the shot and stir gently to combine. Add a very small pinch (about 1/4 tsp) of sea salt only if you prefer a smoother mouthfeel — salt is optional and not necessary.

4

Rinse equipment

Rinse the juicer parts immediately with about 2 tbsp cold filtered water to remove remaining fibers and prevent clogging.

5

Serve the 2 oz wheatgrass shot immediately in a small shot glass. Recommend consuming right away for maximum nutrient potency. Yield: one 2 oz shot (serves 1).
