Wheatgrass Shot
Method
Wheatgrass Shot
Preparation
If using whole wheatgrass bunches, trim any brown tips and rinse briefly under cold running water to remove dirt. Pat dry with a clean towel or spin lightly in a salad spinner. If using pre-cut wheatgrass, proceed to juicing.
Juicing
Feed the wheatgrass through a cold-press masticating juicer or a dedicated wheatgrass juicer. Collect enough juice to measure 1 oz (30 ml). If you only have a centrifugal juicer, press small batches and strain through a fine mesh to remove pulp. Use the 2 tbs of filtered water only if the juicer clogs — add sparingly to help extract juice, then discard excess.
Serving
Serve immediately as a 1 oz wheatgrass shot. Consume right away for best nutrient retention.
