Fried Banana Peppers

Method

Preparation and Cooking

  1. 1

    Prepare the Banana Peppers

Wash the banana peppers, slice them into rings, and remove the seeds if desired.

  2. 2

    Set Up the Breading Station

In one bowl, place the all-purpose flour mixed with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. In a second bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk. In a third bowl, place the cornmeal.

  3. 3

    Bread the Peppers

Dip each banana pepper ring first into the flour mixture, then into the egg mixture, and finally coat them with cornmeal.

  4. 4

    Fry the Peppers

In a large skillet, heat the oil over medium-high heat. Fry the breaded banana peppers in batches until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove and drain on paper towels.

  5. 5

    Serve

Serve the fried banana peppers hot with your choice of house-made dipping sauce.
