Red Stripe is a refreshing lager beer. It's the beer in the little stubby bottle, from an island with big spirit. A full-bodied, crisp lager beer, with a smooth post – palate sensation.

Start by boiling 500 ml of water in a large pot. This will be used for mashing the grains.

Step 1: Prepare the Water

Add 300 g of pale malt and 50 g of caramel malt to the boiling water. Stir well and maintain the temperature around 65°C (149°F) for about 60 minutes.

Step 2: Mash the Grains

After mashing, sparge the grains with additional hot water to extract the sugars. Collect the liquid, known as wort, in a separate pot.

Step 3: Sparging

Bring the wort to a boil and add 30 g of Hallertau hops. Boil for 60 minutes, adding more hops if desired for flavor.

Step 4: Boil the Wort

After boiling, cool the wort quickly using an immersion chiller or an ice bath until it reaches around 20°C (68°F).

Step 5: Cooling the Wort

Once the wort is cooled, transfer it to a sanitized fermentation vessel and add 11 g of lager yeast. Seal the vessel with an airlock.

Step 6: Pitch the Yeast

Allow the lager to ferment at a consistent temperature of around 10°C (50°F) for 2-3 weeks.

Step 7: Fermentation Process

After fermentation is complete, dissolve 50 g of corn sugar in a small amount of water and add to the lager before bottling. This will carbonate the beer.

Step 8: Bottling the Lager

Bottle the lager in sanitized bottles and cap them. Store in a cool, dark place for an additional 2 weeks to allow carbonation.
