Ingredients
Cocktail Base
Ice & Garnish
Prep
1. Chill glass
Place a coupe or martini glass in the freezer or fill with ice water to chill while you prepare the cocktail.
2. Measure out all spirits and cold brew so they are ready to go. If you prefer a slightly sweeter martini, include the optional simple syrup.
Mixing & Shaking
3. Combine ingredients
In a cocktail shaker, add 2 oz Mr Black Cold Brew Liqueur, 1.5 oz vodka, 0.75 oz Irish cream, 1 oz Downeast Cold Brew, and 0.25 oz simple syrup (if using).
4. Add ice
Fill the shaker with plenty of ice (about 1 cup) to properly chill and dilute the cocktail.
5. Dry shake (optional)
If you want extra creaminess and a frothier top, first dry-shake (no ice) vigorously for 8–10 seconds to emulsify the Irish cream and cold brew with the liqueur.
6. Wet shake
Add ice (if you dry-shook) or proceed directly if you didn't, then shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds until the shaker is very cold to the touch and the outside has frost.
Strain & Garnish
7. Double strain
Discard the chilling ice/water from the glass. Double strain the shaken cocktail through a Hawthorne or fine mesh strainer into the chilled coupe or martini glass to achieve a silky texture.
8. Garnish
Garnish with 3 coffee beans gently placed on the froth. Optionally dust with a light sprinkle of cocoa powder or add a few chocolate shavings for extra aroma.
9. Serve immediately while cold. Enjoy responsibly.
