Method

Preparing the Patties

1

Form the Patties

In a bowl, combine 1 pound of ground beef with 1 tsp of salt and 1 tsp of black pepper. Mix gently and divide into 4 equal portions, shaping each portion into a patty about 1/2 inch thick.

2

Cook the Patties

Heat a skillet or grill over medium-high heat. Place the patties on the hot surface and cook for about 3-4 minutes on one side. Flip the patties and cook for an additional 3 minutes.

3

Add Cheese

During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of American cheese on each patty. Cover with a lid to help melt the cheese.

Assembling the Burger

4

Prepare the Buns

While the patties are cooking, toast the brioche buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.

5

Build the Burger

On the bottom half of each toasted brioche bun, place a cooked patty with melted cheese. Add ketchup, mustard, pickles, lettuce, and a slice of tomato as desired.

6

Finish the Burger

Place the top half of the brioche bun on each assembled burger. Serve immediately with additional condiments on the side.
