Preparation Steps

1

Sauté the Vegetables

In a large pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion, carrots, and celery. Sauté for about 5-7 minutes until the vegetables are soft.

2

Add Garlic

Stir in the minced garlic and cook for another 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

3

Combine Tomatoes and Broth

Add the crushed tomatoes, vegetable broth, salt, and black pepper to the pot. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 20 minutes.

4

Blend the Soup

Use an immersion blender to puree the soup until smooth. Alternatively, you can carefully transfer the soup in batches to a blender.

5

Stir in Fresh Basil

After blending, stir in the chopped fresh basil and let the bisque simmer for an additional 5 minutes.

6

Serve with Crème Fraîche

Ladle the tomato bisque into bowls and swirl in a spoonful of crème fraîche before serving.
