Method

Sandwich

1

Cook bacon

Cook the bacon until crisp. You can fry in a skillet over medium heat for about 6–8 minutes, turning occasionally, or bake on a sheet at 400°F (200°C) for 12–15 minutes. Transfer to a paper towel–lined plate to drain and cool.

2

Prep bread and mayo

Lay the two slices of potato bread flat. Spread the mayonnaise evenly on one side of each slice. This creates a moisture barrier so the bread doesn't get soggy from tomato and lettuce.

3

Assemble meats

On one slice of mayo-spread bread, layer the turkey evenly (about 3 oz), then the ham (about 2 oz). Distribute the slices so the protein covers the bread surface without large gaps.

4

Add bacon and vegetables

Place the two cooked bacon slices on top of the ham layer. Add the lettuce (about 1 cup, washed, dried, and torn or left whole) over the bacon. Top the lettuce with the two tomato slices. Sprinkle the tomato with about 1/4 teaspoon salt and a pinch (about 1/8 teaspoon) of freshly ground black pepper to enhance flavor.

5

Close and press

Place the remaining slice of potato bread, mayo side down, on top of the stacked ingredients to close the sandwich. Press gently to compress slightly so the sandwich holds together.

6

Slice and serve

If desired, cut the sandwich in half diagonally or straight down the middle. Serve immediately with the optional pickle spear and potato chips.

Optional (serving)

7

Arrange the pickle spear and potato chips on the plate alongside the sandwich. If you prefer warm bacon or toast, prepare accordingly before assembly.
