Base Liquids

Ice (if using fresh fruit)

Method

Prepare Ingredients

1

Measure and stage

Measure all ingredients and place near your blender. If using fresh fruit instead of frozen, add the ice (0.5 cups) listed in the Ice section to chill and thicken.

2

Leafy greens prep

If using baby spinach, rinse and pat dry. No chopping needed; spinach blends easily and will collapse down in the blender.

Blend Smoothie

3

Layer for best blending

Add liquids (almond milk and Greek yogurt) to the blender first. This helps blades catch and create a smooth vortex.

4

Add solids and add-ins

Add frozen mixed berries, frozen banana slices, fresh banana, spinach (if using), rolled oats, chia seeds, and any boosters (vanilla, cinnamon, protein powder). If using sweetener, add now.

5

Ice if needed

Add ice cubes only if you used fresh fruit instead of frozen or want extra chill/thickness.

6

Blend

Secure the lid and blend on high for 45–90 seconds, or until completely smooth. Stop and scrape down the sides with a spatula once if needed, then blend again for 10–15 seconds to fully incorporate.

7

Adjust consistency and taste

If the smoothie is too thick, add 1–2 tablespoons (15–30 ml) more almond milk and blend briefly. If too thin, add a few more frozen berries or 1–2 ice cubes and pulse to thicken. Taste and add honey or maple syrup to sweeten if desired; blend 5–10 seconds to mix.

Serve & Store

8

Pour the smoothie into two glasses (about 12–14 oz total yield) or one large glass. Garnish with a sprinkle of cinnamon, a few whole berries, or a slice of banana if desired.

9

Consume immediately for best texture and nutrition. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight jar in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours — shake or stir before drinking. For longer storage, freeze in portions and thaw in the fridge overnight, then re-blend.
