Banana Smoothie Base

Method

Prepare Ingredients

1

Peel and measure

Peel the ripe banana and break it into 2–3 pieces so it blends easily. Measure out the almond milk, yogurt (if using), and any optional add-ins you plan to include.

2

If you prefer a thicker smoothie, place 4 ice cubes in the freezer ahead of time or use a frozen banana (slice and freeze earlier).

Blend Smoothie

3

Combine in blender

Add the banana pieces, 1 cup almond milk, 1/4 cup yogurt (if using), 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup, 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract, and 1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon to the blender. Add 4 ice cubes if you want it chilled and thicker.

4

Optional add-ins

If using optional boosts, add 1 tablespoon almond butter, 1 scoop protein powder, or 1 teaspoon chia/flax seed now.

5

Blend

Secure the lid and blend on high for 30–60 seconds, or until the mixture is smooth and creamy with no large banana pieces remaining. If the smoothie is too thick, add up to 1/4 cup more almond milk and blend again for 10–15 seconds. If too thin, add a few small ice cubes or a bit more yogurt and re-blend.

Serve

6

Pour the finished banana smoothie into a glass. Taste and adjust sweetness with an additional 1/2 tablespoon honey or maple syrup if needed.

7

Optionally sprinkle a pinch of cinnamon on top or garnish with a thin banana slice or a drizzle of almond butter. Serve immediately.
