Cocktail

Method

Prepare Glass

1

Chill glass

Place the coupe or martini glass in the freezer for at least 10 minutes before making the cocktail, or fill it with ice water while you assemble the drink to thoroughly chill.

Mix Cocktail

2

Fill a mixing glass or cocktail shaker with the indicated ice cubes to properly chill and dilute the drink.

3

Add the chilled vodka, dry vermouth, fresh lemon juice, simple syrup, and orange bitters to the mixing glass.

4

Stir the mixture for 20–30 seconds with a bar spoon (or shake gently if you prefer a slightly frothier texture) until well chilled and slightly diluted. If stirring, aim for a silky texture; if shaking, you’ll get more aeration.

5

Discard the ice or water from the chilled glass and strain the cocktail into the chilled coupe or martini glass using a Hawthorne strainer or julep strainer.

Garnish & Serve

6

Express the lemon twist over the drink by holding the peel over the surface and giving it a quick twist to release the oils, then rub the peel around the rim and drop it into the cocktail as garnish.

7

Serve immediately while chilled.
