Method

Chill and Prepare

1

Check temperature

Ensure the Coca-Cola product you intend to serve is chilled. Ideal serving temperature for cola-style soft drinks is about 37–45°F (3–7°C). If the beverage is at room temperature, place the can or bottle in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes or in an ice bath for 10–15 minutes.

2

Prepare glass and ice

If serving in a glass, place about 1 cup of ice cubes into the tumbler or highball glass. For a very cold drink, fill the glass to the top with ice; for slightly less dilution, use half a glass of ice.

Serve the Drink

3

Open and pour

Open the selected Coca-Cola product (can or bottle). Hold the glass at a slight angle (about 45 degrees) and slowly pour the beverage down the side to reduce excessive foaming. Pour until the glass is nearly full, leaving about 1/2 inch (1 cm) headspace.

4

Add garnish (optional)

If desired, squeeze a lemon or lime wedge lightly over the drink and drop the wedge into the glass for a bright citrus note. For Sprite or citrus-forward sodas, a lime wedge pairs especially well.

5

Serve with straw (optional)

Insert a reusable or disposable straw if preferred. Place the drink on a coaster and serve immediately so it stays icy-cold and fizzy.

Storage and Handling

6

If not finishing an opened can, transfer leftover soda to a sealed container or cover the can with plastic wrap and refrigerate. Consume within 24–48 hours for best carbonation and flavor. Unopened cans or bottles should be stored upright in a cool, dark place or refrigerated until ready to serve.
