Biscuit and Gravy Directions
Make the Biscuits
Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C). In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Cut in butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in milk until just combined. Turn dough onto a floured surface and knead gently. Pat into a 1-inch thickness and cut out biscuits. Place on a baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
Make the Gravy
In a skillet, cook the breakfast sausage over medium heat until browned. Sprinkle flour over the sausage and stir to combine. Gradually add milk, stirring constantly until the gravy thickens. Season with salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes to taste.
Serve
Cut the biscuits in half, smother them with sausage gravy, and serve alongside the crispy hashbrowns.
