Cocktail Sauce

Method

Preparing the Shrimp

1

Boil the Water

In a large pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil over high heat.

2

Add Seasoning and Shrimp

Once the water is boiling, add the lemon slices and Old Bay seasoning. Then, carefully add the shrimp to the pot.

3

Cook the Shrimp

Cook the shrimp for about 2-3 minutes, or until they turn pink and opaque. Avoid overcooking.

4

Ice Bath

Remove the shrimp from the pot and immediately transfer them to a bowl filled with ice and cold water to stop the cooking process. Let them sit for 5 minutes.

5

Drain and Chill

Drain the shrimp and pat them dry with a paper towel. Place them in the refrigerator to chill until ready to serve.

Making the Cocktail Sauce

6

Combine Ingredients

In a medium bowl, mix together 1 cup of ketchup, 2 tablespoons of horseradish, 2 tablespoons of lemon juice, and 1 teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce.

7

Adjust Flavor

Taste the sauce and add hot sauce if desired, mixing well after each addition until the desired heat is reached.

8

Serve

Transfer the cocktail sauce to a serving bowl and serve alongside the chilled shrimp.
