Method
Biscuit Directions
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
Mix Dry Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until well combined.
Incorporate Butter
Add the cold, cubed unsalted butter to the flour mixture. Using a pastry cutter or your fingers, work the butter into the flour until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Add Buttermilk
Make a well in the center of the mixture and pour in the buttermilk. Stir gently until just combined. Do not overmix.
Shape Biscuits
Turn the dough out onto a floured surface. Pat it down to about 1-inch thickness and use a biscuit cutter to cut out biscuits. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Bake Biscuits
Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until the biscuits are golden brown on top.
Egg & Cheese Directions
Cook the Eggs
In a non-stick skillet over medium heat, melt 1 tablespoon of unsalted butter. Crack the eggs into the skillet and add salt and black pepper. Cook to your desired doneness (sunny side up, over easy, etc.).
Assemble the Biscuit
Once the biscuits are baked, slice them in half. Place the cheesy eggs on the bottom half of each biscuit and cover with the top half.
