- 1
Prepare glass
Chill a rocks glass or an old fashioned glass by filling it with ice and setting it aside while you build the cocktail.
- 2
Measure and add spirits
In a mixing glass, add 2 oz Johnnie Walker Black Label, 0.5 oz Dolin Dry Vermouth, 0.5 oz Amontillado Sherry, and 0.25 oz Grand Marnier.

Discard chill ice and strain
Dump the ice from the chilled rocks glass. Using a julep or Hawthorne strainer, strain the mixed cocktail into the chilled rocks glass over one large clear ice cube if desired (or over fresh large ice cubes).
- 6
Garnish
Express the oils from one piece of orange peel over the drink by holding the peel skin-side down and giving it a firm twist over the surface. Run the peel around the rim of the glass and drop it into the drink as garnish.

Serve
Serve immediately. Sip slowly to appreciate the layered notes of peat and smoke from the Scotch, the nutty dryness of the Amontillado, the herbal brightness of dry vermouth and the citrus-cognac lift from the Grand Marnier.
