Coconut Preparation
1. Select and Clean the Coconut
Choose a fresh, mature coconut that feels heavy for its size and has no cracks. Rinse it under cold water to remove any dirt.
2. Open the Coconut
Using a cleaver or a hammer, carefully tap around the equator of the coconut to create a crack. Once a crack forms, continue tapping until it splits open.
3. Drain the Coconut Water
Hold the coconut over a bowl or a glass and tilt it to pour out the coconut water. You can strain it through a sieve if desired.
4. Serve the Coconut Water
Pour the drained coconut water into a glass and add ice water if desired. Optionally, insert straws for easier drinking.
5. Scoop out the Coconut Meat
