Crostini

Method

Crostini Preparation

1

Slice the Baguette

Using a sharp knife, slice the baguette into 1/2-inch thick slices.

2

Prepare the Garlic

Peel and halve the garlic clove. You will use this to flavor the crostini.

3

Toast the Crostini

Brush both sides of each baguette slice lightly with olive oil. Heat a skillet over medium heat and toast the slices for about 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown. Remove from the skillet.

4

Flavor the Crostini

While the crostini are still warm, rub the cut side of the garlic clove on one side of each toasted slice to impart flavor.

Crab Cocktail Preparation

5

Combine Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine the crab meat, mayonnaise, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, finely chopped celery, and chopped chives.

6

Season the Mixture

Add salt and black pepper to the mixture. Stir gently until all ingredients are well combined.

7

Taste and Adjust

Taste the crab cocktail and adjust seasoning as necessary, adding more salt, pepper, or lemon juice to your preference.

Assembly

8

Serve the Crostini

Arrange the toasted crostini on a serving platter.

9

Top with Crab Cocktail

Spoon the crab cocktail mixture onto each crostini, ensuring an even distribution.

10

Garnish and Enjoy

If desired, garnish with additional chives or a sprinkle of paprika for color before serving.
