Classic Premium Cocktails — ingredients for 4 servings (batch)

Method

Classic Premium Cocktails — directions for 4 servings (batch)

1

Overview

This recipe produces a small premium cocktail station for serving four guests with a selection of classic cocktails — Martini-style, Vodka & Soda highballs, Old Fashioned-style, Daiquiri-style, and an aromatic stirred Negroni variation. Prepare mixers and garnishes ahead; keep spirits chilled if desired. All ingredient amounts are batch quantities; use specified portioning when building individual drinks.

2

Prep — chilling and measuring

1. Place cocktail glasses (martini, coupe, highball, and rocks) in the freezer or fill with ice water to chill for 10–15 minutes. 2. Fill an ice bin with large ice cubes for stirring and shaking, and prepare a small bowl of crushed ice for highballs/collins. 3. Measure out the spirits and mixers into pourable containers or jiggers so you can build drinks quickly and accurately.

3

Simple syrup

If you don’t have simple syrup ready: combine equal parts granulated sugar and water (example: 1 cup sugar + 1 cup water) in a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir until sugar dissolves, bring to a gentle simmer for 1 minute, then remove and cool. Store in the refrigerator. This recipe uses 8 tbsp total in the batch.

4

Martini (Gin or Vodka) — makes 2 servings

1. For each Martini: chill a mixing glass and strainer. 2. Add 3 oz gin or vodka and 0.5 oz dry vermouth per serving (for a classic 6:1 ratio, reduce vermouth to 0.25 oz if preferred). 3. Add ice to the mixing glass and stir gently for 20–30 seconds until well chilled (stirring is preferred for clarity). 4. Strain into a chilled martini or coupe glass. 5. Garnish with a lemon twist (express oils over the glass and drop in) or a cocktail olive if you prefer savory.

5

Vodka & Soda Highball — makes 2 servings

1. For each highball: fill two highball glasses with crushed ice. 2. Divide 3 oz vodka among the two glasses (1.5 oz per glass). 3. Add 1 tbsp fresh lime juice per glass. 4. Top each with 4 oz chilled sparkling water. 5. Stir gently once to combine. 6. Gently slap a mint sprig to wake the aromatics and use as garnish, plus a lime wheel on the rim.

6

Daiquiri-style (Rum Sour) — makes 2 servings

1. For each Daiquiri-style cocktail: in a shaker, add 3 oz premium white rum (1.5 oz per serving when batching), 0.75 oz fresh lime juice, and 0.5 oz simple syrup (adjust to taste). 2. Fill shaker with ice and shake vigorously for 10–12 seconds until the outside of the shaker feels very cold. 3. Double-strain into a chilled coupe or rocks glass without ice for a classic presentation, or serve over crushed ice for a different texture. 4. Garnish with a lime wheel.

7

Old Fashioned-style — makes 2 servings

1. In a mixing glass, add 1 tsp simple syrup and 3 dashes Angostura bitters per serving (so 2 tsp simple syrup and 6 dashes for two). 2. Add 3 oz bourbon divided between two rocks glasses (1.5 oz each). 3. Add large ice cubes and stir gently to chill and dilute slightly (20–30 seconds). 4. Express an orange peel over each glass, rim with the peel, and drop in. Add a cocktail cherry if desired.

8

Negroni-style (Stirred Aromatic) — makes 2 servings

1. For each Negroni: combine 1 oz gin, 1 oz sweet vermouth, and 1 oz Campari or substitute (use triple sec + bitters if Campari not available) per serving. For batching from the provided quantities: mix equal parts gin, sweet vermouth, and triple sec-based substitute to achieve two servings (roughly 3 oz total per cocktail). 2. Add ice and stir in a mixing glass for 25–30 seconds until well chilled and slightly diluted. 3. Strain into a rocks glass over a large ice cube. 4. Garnish with an orange twist and a light grating of fresh nutmeg for an elevated aromatic finish.

9

Serving and timing

1. Serve cocktails immediately after preparation to preserve temperature and dilution. 2. Replenish ice, soda, and garnishes between servings. 3. Keep bitters, vermouths, and open liqueurs refrigerated between service for best flavor and shelf life.

10

Notes, adjustments and portioning guidance

1. Quantities given are batch totals and will allow preparation of multiple classic drinks listed above; adjust ratios to taste. 2. If you plan to serve only one cocktail style, scale the spirits and mixers proportionally. 3. Taste as you go: adjust simple syrup and citrus to balance sweetness and acidity, and reduce vermouth in Martinis if you prefer them drier.
