For the Nashville Hot Chicken
Marinate the Chicken
In a bowl, combine buttermilk and hot sauce. Add chicken thighs and let marinate in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight.
Prepare the Coating
In another bowl, mix flour, cayenne pepper, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
Fry the Chicken
Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet over medium-high heat. Remove chicken from marinade, coat in flour mixture, and fry until golden brown and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes per side.

Make the Sauce
In a small saucepan over low heat, combine maple syrup, bourbon, and butter. Stir until butter is melted and sauce is smooth.
To Serve
Assemble the Dish
Place a piece of Nashville hot chicken on top of a slice of French toast, drizzle with maple bourbon sauce, and serve immediately.
