Pastry and Filling

Method

Preparation and Baking

1

Make the Pastry Crust

In a large bowl, mix flour and salt. Cut in butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Gradually add cold water, stirring until a dough forms. Shape into a disk, wrap in plastic, and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.

2

Prepare the Filling

In another bowl, combine sliced apples, granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Toss to coat the apples evenly.

3

Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

4

Roll Out the Crust

On a floured surface, roll out the chilled pastry dough to fit a 9-inch tart pan. Press the dough into the pan and trim the edges.

5

Assemble the Tart

Arrange the apple filling evenly over the crust.

6

Bake

Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until the apples are tender and the crust is golden brown.

7

Add Caramel

Remove the tart from the oven and let it cool slightly. Drizzle caramel sauce over the warm tart before serving.
