Cooking Instructions
Prepare the Ribs
Preheat your oven to 160°C (325°F). Season the pork ribs with salt and black pepper. Place them in a large roasting pan.
Make the Glaze
In a saucepan, combine soy sauce, whiskey, brown sugar, minced garlic, grated ginger, and red pepper flakes. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves.
Braising the Ribs
Pour the glaze over the ribs in the roasting pan. Cover tightly with aluminum foil and braise in the oven for about 2.5 to 3 hours, or until the ribs are tender.
Prepare the Cabbage
While the ribs are cooking, sauté the shredded cabbage in a pan over medium heat with a little oil, salt, and pepper until it's just softened, about 5-7 minutes.
Finish the Ribs
Remove the foil from the ribs and increase the oven temperature to 220°C (425°F). Bake for an additional 20-30 minutes until the ribs are nicely caramelized and sticky.
Serve
Serve the sticky ribs on a bed of sautéed cabbage and garnish with fresh herbs.
