Instructions

1

Prepare the Steaks

Tenderize the cube steaks with a meat mallet, if desired, to help them cook evenly.

2

Set Up Breading Station

In one bowl, place the buttermilk. In a second bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika.

3

Bread the Steaks

Dip each cube steak first in the buttermilk, then coat thoroughly in the seasoned flour mixture. Shake off excess flour.

4

Heat the Oil

In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until hot, about 350°F (175°C).

5

Fry the Steaks

Carefully place the breaded steaks in the hot oil and fry for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and cooked through.

6

Drain and Serve

Remove the fried steaks from the skillet and drain on paper towels. Serve hot with your favorite gravy or sides.
