If the bottle is at room temperature, chill it in a refrigerator for 2–3 hours to reach 8–12°C (46–54°F). For a quicker chill, place the bottle in an ice bucket with 1 cup of ice and cold water for 20–30 minutes.

Bring to serving temperature

Use a wine opener to remove the capsule and cork cleanly. Wipe the bottle neck with a clean napkin if needed.

Open the bottle

Sauvignon Blanc is typically served directly from the bottle. Decanting is unnecessary unless you prefer allowing the wine to breathe for 5–10 minutes to open its aromatics.

Decant or not

Pour about 120–150 ml per glass into chilled white-wine glasses, filling to roughly one-third to allow aroma concentration in the bowl.

Serve

For a lighter, spritz-style serve: fill the glass 2/3 with chilled Sauvignon Blanc and top with about 120 ml sparkling water. Gently stir once with a bar spoon.

Optional spritz

Slice lime into wedges. Halve passionfruit and scoop pulp into a small serving bowl. If using melon, slice into bite-size crescents or cubes and arrange on a small platter with the goat cheese and crackers.

Prepare garnishes

If desired, express a lime wedge over the glass and drop it in for a hint of citrus — this accentuates the wine's lime notes. Do not overpower the wine with too much fruit.

Encourage tasting alongside the melon and passionfruit: fresh melon highlights the wine's summer fruit character, while a spoonful of passionfruit pulp echoes the tropical passionfruit aromatics. Creamy goat cheese with crackers provides a contrasting texture and balances acidity.

Pairing guidance

Reseal any unfinished bottle with the original cork or a wine stopper and store upright in the refrigerator. Consume within 3–5 days for best freshness; a vacuum wine preserver can extend life slightly longer.
