Cocktail

Optional Sparkle (for a long version)

Method

Rim & Glass Preparation

1

Prepare rim

Combine kosher salt and smoked paprika on a small plate and spread into an even layer. Rub a lime wedge around the rim of a chilled rocks glass (or highball if making the long version). Dip the rim into the salt-paprika mixture, rotating to coat evenly. Set glass aside.

Cocktail Assembly

2

Shake

Add blanco tequila, fresh lime juice, fresh orange juice, orange liqueur, agave syrup, smoked paprika tincture (or smoked bitters), and ice to a cocktail shaker. Secure the lid and shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds, until well chilled and slightly diluted.

3

Strain

Fill the prepared rimmed glass with fresh ice (or leave neat if preferred). Double-strain the shaken cocktail into the glass using a fine mesh strainer over a hawthorne strainer to catch small ice shards and any pulp.

4

Finish & Garnish

Express the oils of an orange twist over the drink (optional) and drop it in, or place a lime wheel/wedge on the rim. If making the long version, top gently with 2 oz chilled club soda or light Mexican beer to taste, then stir once gently to integrate.

Serving

5

Serve immediately while cold. Provide a short stirring straw if topped with soda or beer. Encourage guests to sip and enjoy the smoky, citrus-forward profile that balances bright lime, sweet agave, and a hint of smoke.
