Cocktail Base
Fruit Puree & Juice
Sweetener (optional)
Garnish & Finish
Method
Prepare Fruit Puree
- 1
Blend
Place hulled strawberries and watermelon cubes into a blender. Add the fresh lime juice. Pulse or blend on high until smooth, about 15–30 seconds.
- 2
Taste the puree. If it is not sweet enough for your preference, add up to 1/2 tablespoon simple syrup and blend briefly to combine.
- 3
Strain the puree through a fine-mesh sieve into a bowl or measuring cup, pressing with the back of a spoon to extract as much liquid as possible. Discard solids. You should have approximately 2–3 fl oz of fruit puree.
Assemble Cocktail
- 4
- 5
Pour 1.5 fl oz vodka over the ice.
- 6
Add the strained strawberry-watermelon-lime puree (about 2–3 fl oz) into the glass.
- 7
Top gently with 12 fl oz dry hard apple cider. Pour slowly down the side of the glass to preserve carbonation.
- 8
Stir once gently with a bar spoon to integrate the puree and cider without losing too much fizz.
Garnish & Serve
- 9
Garnish the rim with a lime wheel and float a thinly sliced strawberry on top. Add a mint sprig if using.
- 10
Serve immediately with a straw or long spoon. Advise the drinker to give the cocktail a light stir before sipping to distribute the fruit flavors.
