Drink Base

Method

Prepare Glass

1

Select a clean 16 oz (about 475 ml) fountain drink cup or glass. Fill the glass about three-quarters full with ice cubes (approximately 1 cup). The ice will chill the drink and help maintain proper dilution.

Dispense Drink

2

Syrup first

Pour the fountain soda syrup into the glass first. Measure and add 3 oz of syrup (use the fountain system's marked dispense or a measured pour) to ensure proper flavor concentration.

3

Add carbonated water

Slowly pour 12 oz of carbonated water over the back of a spoon or down the side of the glass to preserve carbonation when possible. Pour gently to reduce foaming and overflow.

4

If you want a slightly sweeter or flavored variation, add 1/2 oz of an additional flavored syrup (vanilla, cherry, etc.) now and gently stir once with a long spoon or straw to combine. Avoid vigorous stirring to keep carbonation.

Finish & Garnish

5

Top off with a small additional amount of carbonated water if the glass is not full, aiming for a total volume close to 16 oz. Insert a straw if desired.

6

Garnish the rim with a lemon or lime wedge and drop in a maraschino cherry if using. Serve immediately while cold and fizzy.
