Cocktail Base

Method

Cocktail Base

  1. 1

    Combine spirits and citrus

Add vodka, Chambord raspberry liqueur, fresh lemon juice, and simple syrup to a cocktail shaker.

  2. 2

    Add ice and shake

Fill the shaker with ice and shake vigorously for about 10–15 seconds until the outside of the shaker is frosty and well chilled.

  3. 3

    Strain into glass

Double-strain the shaken mixture into a chilled coupe or flute using a Hawthorne strainer and a fine mesh strainer to remove ice shards and pulp.

Mixer & Finish

  1. 4

    Top with sparkling wine

Gently top the strained cocktail with 1.5 oz of chilled champagne or dry sparkling wine. Pour slowly to preserve effervescence.

  2. 5

    Garnish and serve

Thread a fresh raspberry onto a cocktail pick and rest across the rim or drop it into the glass. Express a lemon twist over the drink to release oils, run it around the rim, and drop or perch it as desired. Serve immediately while bubbly.
