Syrup and Drink Components

Method

Preparation Steps

  1. 1

    Make the Blackberry Syrup

In a medium saucepan, combine blackberries, sugar, and water. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally until the blackberries break down and the sugar dissolves. This should take about 10 minutes.

  2. 2

    Strain the Syrup

Remove the saucepan from heat and let it cool slightly. Strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into a bowl, pressing the solids to extract as much liquid as possible. Discard the solids and let the syrup cool completely.

  3. 3

    Combine Ingredients

In a large pitcher, mix the cooled blackberry syrup with lime juice. Stir well to combine.

  4. 4

    Serve

To serve, fill glasses with ice, pour the blackberry-lime mixture over the ice, and top with ginger beer. Garnish with lime wedges.
