Stuffed Peppers
Spicy Citrus Sauce
Method
Stuffed Peppers Preparation
Prepare the Peppers
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Cut the tops off the bell peppers and remove the seeds and membranes. Set aside.
Make the Filling
In a mixing bowl, combine goat cheese, minced garlic, chopped fresh basil, salt, and black pepper. Mix until smooth and well-combined.
Stuff the Peppers
Spoon the goat cheese mixture into each of the prepared bell peppers until filled to the top.
Coat the Peppers
Pour breadcrumbs onto a plate. Roll each stuffed pepper in the breadcrumbs to coat evenly.
Cooking the Peppers
Fry the Peppers
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Carefully place the coated peppers in the skillet and fry for about 5-7 minutes on each side until golden brown.
Bake the Peppers
Transfer the fried peppers to a baking dish and bake in the preheated oven for 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly.
Spicy Citrus Sauce Preparation
Make the Sauce
In a saucepan, combine orange juice, lime juice, chili flakes, honey, and salt. Bring to a simmer over medium heat and cook for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until slightly thickened.
Serving
Plate the Dish
Remove the stuffed peppers from the oven and let them cool slightly. Serve them drizzled with the spicy citrus sauce on top.
