1

Muddle fruit and mint

In a cocktail shaker or mixing glass, add the fresh blackberries, 6 mint leaves (reserve a small sprig for garnish), and the simple syrup. Use a muddler or the back of a spoon to gently muddle until the blackberries are broken down and the mint is fragrant. Avoid over-muddling the mint to prevent bitterness.

2

Add spirits and citrus

Add Tito's vodka and fresh lime juice to the muddled mixture. Fill the shaker with a few large ice cubes, cap, and shake vigorously for about 10–12 seconds to chill and dilute slightly.

3

Prepare glass

Fill a copper mug (or highball glass) with crushed ice, leaving room near the top for the ginger beer and garnish.

4

Strain and top

Double-strain the shaken mixture into the prepared mug over the crushed ice to catch seeds and mint bits. Top with chilled ginger beer (about 4 oz). Gently stir once or twice with a bar spoon to combine.

5

Garnish and serve

Garnish with the reserved mint sprig (give it a light clap between your palms to release oils), a fresh blackberry skewered or placed on top, and a lime wedge or wheel on the rim. Serve immediately with a straw.
