Protein Options (choose one)
Cold-sandwich / Ready-to-eat preparation
If you are adding ham or turkey to a cold sandwich, salad, or platter, use 6 oz (about 3–4 thin deli slices or 2 thick-cut slices) per serving. Layer the slices evenly on the bread or salad. Proceed to Optional Seasoning & Finish steps to add condiment and seasonings.
Warm / Toaster or skillet method
Heat a small nonstick skillet over medium-low heat. Add 1 tsp olive oil or a thin smear of butter. Arrange the 6 oz of ham or turkey slices in a single layer and warm for 30–60 seconds per side, until heated through and slightly caramelized edges (do not overcook to avoid drying). Remove from heat and place on the sandwich, salad, or plate. Continue to Optional Seasoning & Finish steps.
Oven-warm method (for multiple servings)
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Arrange ham or turkey slices in a single layer on a rimmed baking sheet lined with parchment. Cover loosely with foil to retain moisture and bake for 6–8 minutes, or until warm. Remove and use immediately.
Optional Seasoning & Finish
Spread 1 tbs mayonnaise and 1 tbs mustard on the bread, wrap, or plate where the protein will sit. Adjust amounts to taste.
Assemble the final dish: place the seasoned ham or turkey in the sandwich, on a salad, or on the plate. Serve immediately.
