Begin by juicing the blood orange to obtain 1 oz of fresh blood orange juice. Additionally, squeeze half an ounce of fresh lime juice from the lime.

In a cocktail shaker, combine 2 oz of Maker's Mark bourbon, 1 oz of blood orange juice, and 0.5 oz of fresh lime juice.

Fill the shaker with ice and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds until well chilled.
