Preparation Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Glass

Start by selecting a rocks glass or an old-fashioned glass. Place it on a flat surface.

  2. 2

    Add Sugar

In the glass, add 1 teaspoon of Demerara sugar. If you prefer a sweeter drink, you can adjust the amount to your taste.

  3. 3

    Add Bitters

Add 2 dashes of Angostura bitters directly onto the sugar in the glass.

  4. 4

    Muddle the Mixture

Using a muddler or the back of a spoon, gently muddle the sugar and bitters together until they form a paste.

  5. 5

    Add Bourbon

Pour 2 ounces of Old Forester Bourbon over the muddled sugar and bitters mixture in the glass.

  6. 6

    Add Ice

Add 4 ice cubes to the glass, allowing the bourbon to chill and dilute slightly.

  7. 7

    Stir the Drink

Using a bar spoon, stir the mixture gently for about 15-20 seconds to combine the flavors.

  8. 8

    Garnish with Orange Peel

Take a piece of orange peel and twist it over the drink to release its oils. Drop the peel into the glass as a garnish.

  9. 9

    Serve

Your Ol' Fashioned is now ready to be enjoyed. Sip slowly and savor the flavors.
