Cooking Instructions

1

Prepare the Ingredients

Chop the onion, celery, green bell pepper, and garlic. Dice the turtle meat into small pieces.

2

Sauté the Vegetables

In a large pot, heat the cooking oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion, celery, and green bell pepper. Sauté until softened, about 5 minutes.

3

Add Garlic and Turtle Meat

Stir in the minced garlic and diced turtle meat. Cook until the meat is browned, about 8-10 minutes.

4

Combine Ingredients

Add the canned diced tomatoes, chicken broth, Worcestershire sauce, bay leaves, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper to the pot. Bring to a boil.

5

Simmer the Soup

Reduce the heat to low and let the soup simmer for 1.5 to 2 hours, stirring occasionally, until the turtle meat is tender.

6

Finish with Tequila

Remove the bay leaves and stir in the tequila. Adjust seasoning if necessary.

7

Serve

Ladle the soup into bowls and garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
