Cocktail Base

Method

Prep (optional)

1

Rim the Glass (optional)

If you want a salted or sugared rim, rub a lime wedge around the glass rim, then dip the rim into a shallow dish of coarse salt or sugar. Set the glass aside.

Build the Cocktail

2

Fill a highball or Collins glass with ice (about 3/4 full).

3

In a cocktail shaker filled halfway with ice, add Tito's Vodka (2 oz), Triple Sec (1/2 oz), fresh lime juice (1 oz), and simple syrup (1/2 oz) if using. The simple syrup balances tartness—omit if you prefer a drier cocktail.

4

Shake vigorously for about 10–15 seconds until well chilled.

5

Strain the shaken mixture into the prepared ice-filled glass.

6

Top gently with 3 oz soda water or Starry (lemon-lime soda). If using Starry, pour slowly to preserve carbonation and add a touch of sweetness and citrus; soda water keeps it crisp and lighter.

7

Stir once gently with a bar spoon to integrate the topper without flattening the soda.

8

Garnish with a lime wheel or wedge on the rim. Serve immediately.
