Patty Melt Ingredients

Cooking Instructions

1

Caramelize the Onions

Slice the onion thinly. In a skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Add the onions and a pinch of salt, cooking them slow until they are caramelized, about 15-20 minutes.

2

Prepare the Patties

In a bowl, combine the ground beef, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Form into 2 equal patties.

3

Cook the Patties

In the same skillet, add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter. Once melted, add the patties and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until cooked to your desired doneness.

4

Assemble the Patty Melt

Place a slice of Swiss cheese on top of each patty. Once the cheese has melted, remove the patties from the skillet.

5

Grill the Sandwich

On the same skillet, place two slices of marble rye bread. Add the patties with melted cheese on top, then add the caramelized onions. Top with another slice of marble rye bread. Grill each side until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side.

6

Serve

Slice the patty melt in half and serve hot.
