Ice Cream & Assembly

3 scoops vanilla ice cream (softened slightly for easy scooping)1 cups heavy cream (for quick whipped cream)1 tbs powdered sugar1 tsp Watkins vanilla extract2 bars Kinder Bueno bars (standard size)1 tbs chopped hazelnuts (optional, for garnish)

Hazelnut Sauce

3 tbs Nutella or chocolate-hazelnut spread2 tsp Milk1 tsp light corn syrup (or honey, optional for shine)

Method

Hazelnut Sauce

Warm and thin the spread

Place Nutella (or chocolate-hazelnut spread) in a small microwave-safe bowl. Add 2 teaspoons milk and 1 teaspoon corn syrup. Microwave in 10-12 second bursts, stirring between bursts, until the mixture is smooth and pourable (about 20-30 seconds total). If you prefer, warm gently in a small saucepan over low heat while stirring. Remove from heat and set aside to cool slightly so it is warm but not hot.

Ice Cream & Assembly

Prepare whipped cream

Chill a mixing bowl and whisk (or use a chilled stand mixer bowl) for 5 minutes if possible. Pour 1 cup heavy cream into the bowl. Add 1 tablespoon powdered sugar and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. Whip on medium-high speed until soft peaks form (about 2-3 minutes). Do not overwhip; you want light, billowy whipped cream.

Prepare Kinder Bueno pieces

Unwrap 2 Kinder Bueno bars. Break each bar into roughly 6-8 pieces (or chop coarsely) so you have a mix of small chunks and some larger pieces for texture. Reserve a few larger pieces for garnish.

Scoop ice cream

Place 3 scoops of slightly softened vanilla ice cream into a chilled sundae glass or bowl. If ice cream is rock-hard, let sit 3-5 minutes at room temperature to make scooping easier.

Top with whipped cream and Kinder pieces

Pipe or spoon a generous dollop of the whipped cream over the ice cream scoops. Sprinkle about two-thirds of the chopped Kinder Bueno pieces over the whipped cream and ice cream, leaving some pieces for garnish.

Drizzle hazelnut sauce and garnish

Warmed hazelnut sauce should be pourable but not hot. Drizzle the sauce over the top of the sundae in a spiral or zig-zag pattern until you reach the desired amount (about 2 tablespoons). Finish by placing the reserved larger Kinder Bueno pieces on top and sprinkling 1 tablespoon chopped hazelnuts if using.

Serve immediately

Serve the Kinder Bueno Sundae immediately while the ice cream is cold and the sauce is warm. Provide a small spoon and enjoy.
