Preparation of Ingredients
Peel the ripe bananas and slice them lengthwise into halves.
Place the sliced bananas in a serving dish, curving them like a boat.
Bourbon Sauce Preparation
Make the Bourbon Sauce
In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter. Add the brown sugar and stir until dissolved.
Slowly pour in the bourbon and mix well. Allow it to simmer for about 2 minutes.
Stir in the heavy cream and vanilla extract, cooking for an additional 2-3 minutes until thickened. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
Assembling the Drunken Banana Split
Build the Banana Split
Scoop 1 cup of vanilla ice cream and 1 cup of chocolate ice cream into the center of the banana slices.
Generously drizzle the bourbon sauce over the ice cream.
Top with a dollop of whipped cream and sprinkle the crushed pecan pralines on top.
