Cocktail

Method

Prepare glass

1

Chill and decorate

Place a coupe or martini glass in the freezer for at least 5 minutes to chill. Meanwhile, drizzle 0.5 tbs chocolate syrup inside the chilled glass or around the rim if desired. Set glass aside in a cool place.

Mix cocktail

2

Combine ingredients

Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice (about 1 cup). Add 2 oz Absolut Vodka, 1 oz coffee liqueur, 1 oz Owen's Espresso mixer, 0.5 tbs chocolate syrup, and 0.25 oz simple syrup if using.

3

Shake vigorously

Secure the shaker lid and shake vigorously for 12–20 seconds. Aim for a vigorous shake to create a frothy crema from the espresso mixer and to chill the drink thoroughly.

4

Double strain and serve

Remove the chilled glass from the freezer. Using a Hawthorne strainer and (optionally) a fine mesh strainer, pour the cocktail into the prepared glass, leaving the ice behind.

Garnish and finish

5

Float 3 coffee beans on top of the foam for a classic espresso martini garnish. If you drizzled chocolate inside the glass, optionally add a light drizzle over the foam for extra presentation.
