Method

Prep & Build

  1. 1

    Chill glass

Fill a highball or Collins glass with ice to chill while you prepare the cocktail (optional).

  2. 2

    Add ingredients to shaker

Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice (about 4–6 cubes). Pour in 2 oz Grey Goose vodka, 2 oz cold water, and 3 oz lemonade.

  3. 3

    Shake

Secure the shaker lid and shake vigorously for 10–12 seconds until the outside of the shaker feels very cold and slightly frosted. This both chills and slightly dilutes the drink for balance.

  4. 4

    Prepare serving glass

Discard ice from the chilled serving glass if used and add fresh ice (3–4 cubes) to the glass.

  5. 5

    Strain & serve

Double-strain the shaken cocktail into the prepared glass over fresh ice using the shaker’s strainer or a julep/mesh strainer to keep shards out. If you prefer a slightly stronger profile, pour without additional ice.

  6. 6

    Garnish

Garnish with a lemon wheel or wedge on the rim and an optional mint sprig slapped once to release aroma. Serve immediately.
