Method
Prep

- 2
Measure ingredients
Measure out vodka, mango puree, lemon juice, cranberry juice, simple syrup, and orange liqueur (if using). Have bitters and garnish ready.
Build & Shake
- 3
Add the measured vodka (2 oz) to a cocktail shaker.
- 4
Add mango puree (1 oz) to the shaker. If your mango puree is very thick, give it a quick stir or thin with a teaspoon of warm water so it blends smoothly.
- 5
Add fresh lemon juice (0.75 oz) and cranberry juice (1.5 oz) to balance sweetness and tartness.
- 6
Add simple syrup (0.5 tsp) to round the edges. If your mango is extremely ripe or sweet, you can omit or reduce this amount.
- 7
If using, add 0.25 oz orange liqueur for extra depth and 1 dash Angostura bitters for complexity.
- 8
Fill the shaker with ice (about 6 cubes), secure the lid, and shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds until the shaker is very cold and the outside is frosty. This both chills and slightly dilutes the cocktail for balance.
Strain & Serve
- 9
Remove the chilled glass from the freezer or discard the ice water and quickly double-strain the cocktail into the glass using a Hawthorne strainer and a fine mesh strainer to remove ice shards and any pulp for a silky texture.
- 10
Garnish with a lemon twist or wheel on the rim. Optionally float 2–3 fresh cranberries in the drink for a festive look.
- 11
Serve immediately straight up (no ice) so the temperature and texture are enjoyed at their best.
