Creole Cajun Butter

Method

Cooking the Shrimp

  1. 1

    Prepare the Water

In a large pot, bring 4 quarts of water to a boil over high heat. Add 2 tablespoons of salt, the halved lemon, and 2 tablespoons of Old Bay seasoning to the boiling water.

  2. 2

    Cook the Shrimp

Once the water is boiling, add the 2 pounds of large shrimp to the pot. Stir gently to ensure the shrimp are submerged.

  3. 3

    Boil and Rest

Boil the shrimp for 2-3 minutes, or until they turn pink and opaque. Remove the pot from heat, cover, and let the shrimp sit in the hot water for an additional 5 minutes to soak up the flavors.

  4. 4

    Drain and Serve

Carefully drain the shrimp in a colander and let them cool slightly. Serve warm with Creole Cajun Butter for dipping.

Making the Creole Cajun Butter

  1. 5

    Melt the Butter

In a small saucepan over low heat, melt 1 cup of unsalted butter until fully liquid.

  2. 6

    Combine the Ingredients

Once the butter is melted, add 4 minced garlic cloves, 2 tablespoons of Cajun seasoning, 2 tablespoons of lemon juice, and 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce. Stir well to combine.

  3. 7

    Finish with Parsley

Remove from heat and stir in 2 tablespoons of freshly chopped parsley. Serve warm in a small bowl alongside the shrimp.
