Cocktail

1

Chill glass

Place a chilled coupe or martini glass in the freezer for several minutes or fill it with ice water while you prepare the drink to ensure the cocktail stays cold.

2

Combine ingredients

Add Absolut Vanilla vodka (2 oz), cranberry juice (1 oz), fresh lime juice (0.5 oz), simple syrup (0.25 oz), and optional orange liqueur (0.5 oz) into a shaker.

3

Add ice and shake

Fill the shaker with 6 ice cubes, secure the lid, and shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds until the outside of the shaker is frosty and well chilled. This both chills and dilutes the cocktail to balance sweetness and acidity.

4

Prepare glass

If you used ice water to chill the glass, dump it now. Optionally add 3 ice cubes if you prefer to serve the cocktail on ice (for a short 'rocks' variation), otherwise serve straight up.

5

Strain

Double-strain the cocktail into the chilled coupe or martini glass using a Hawthorne strainer and a fine-mesh strainer to remove ice shards for a silky texture.

6

Garnish

Express a lime twist over the surface to release oils, rub the rim lightly (optional), and drop the twist into the drink. Alternatively, thread two fresh or dehydrated cranberries on a pick and rest across the glass rim.

7

Serve

Serve immediately while cold. Taste and, if desired, adjust future pours by adding an extra 0.25 oz simple syrup for more sweetness or a splash more lime for brightness.
