Baba Cake

Method

Baba Cake Preparation

1

Make the Dough

In a bowl, combine flour, yeast, sugar, and salt. In a small saucepan, warm the milk and butter until melted. Let cool slightly, then add to the flour mixture along with the eggs. Mix until a smooth dough forms.

2

Let it Rise

Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hour.

3

Bake the Baba

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baba mold or bundt pan. Pour the risen dough into the mold and bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.

4

Soak the Baba

Once baked, cool slightly. Soak the baba in a mixture of dark rum or orange liqueur and sugar syrup for at least 30 minutes.
